Next time, why not bring back a stylish butter knife from Denmark
So a friend just came back from a month of loafing around Scandinavia (grr) and produced this spiffy looking butter knife as a peace offering. What cut could be unkinder? But, no matter. It did transport me, if momentarily, into the zen-like world of Scandinavian design. Picked up at a pop-up crafts market in Copenhagen, it’s a sharp little lesson in Scandinavian minimalism. Design from that rarefied part of the world is all about paring objects down to their purest, functional form. But that doesn’t mean they have to eschew aesthetics. This knife looks rough hewn, almost carelessly conceived, but it’s ergonomic, and a pleasure to wield. Better buy some butter now.
